Tuesday, September 9, 2008 - 6:30 PM. Our 2nd Annual Autumn Feast!

This will be a wonderful Autumn Dinner punctuated with a raffle for some great prizes donated by the garden club committee. You will have a chance to "Show & Tell" how your garden did this past "rainy" summer (bring photos). We will also be collecting dues for the coming year. This is the one thing that hasn't gone up...still at only $20 for the year! Bring your appetite and we'll do all the rest!

Tuesday, October 7, 2008 - 7:00 PM. The Famous Channel 5 Meteorologist, Dave Epstein, is coming to Merrimac!!!

Dave Epstein, Meteorologist for Channel 5 in Boston and owner of Bloomscapes will be our guest speaker. This will be a very exciting program. If you want to learn more about what he does you may go to either one of these websites: www.bloomscapes.com or www.growingwisdom.com . To get garden tips from Dave, you can watch him every Saturday and Sunday at 7:25 AM on Channel 5. This will be a big event you won't want to miss!

Just in time for the holidays, our own Nancy Perkins will be leading us in a workshop in creating a beautiful Williamsburg Centerpiece. With just a few minor changes she will show us how to maintain this piece to last through the holidays to the end of the year! See you on the 4th!

Tuesday, December 2, 2008 - 6:30 PM. Holiday Festivities!

We all had such a great time last year at the Rhythm Cafe that we will be going back for more fun and friendship. This year we are requesting a set menu for a set price. In lieu of any gifts, we are asking all members to bring donations of food for a local food pantry. The garden club will be doing this in the true spirit of this season of Giving and Sharing what we have with others. Don't miss this opportunity to relax, converse and enjoy the company of your sister gardening aficionados!

Tuesday, February 3, 2009 - 7:00 PM. IKEBANA! (What does That Mean?)

You will love this! "Ikebana is an art where the living flowers and the spirit of the person arranging them are united to create beauty and form." This is a special part of Japan's traditional culture. We have invited Antoinette Drouart of Nashua to demonstrate this ancient flower art form to us. There will be a raffle for one of these most beautiful arrangements. You will want to be present for this unique and interesting evening.

Tuesday, March 3, 2009 - 7:00 PM. Ahh...Perennials! How can I have a garden that blooms all season? OR ... Getting more Bang for your Buck!

Nora McElroy of the Newton Greenhouse will demonstrate all the ways you can stretch your gardening dollars. Which plants to put where. Learn how to have a blooming garden throughout the entire season from spring through to the fall. This will be of great interest to all in these times of tighter budgets! See you there!

Tuesday, May 5, 2009 - 7:00 PM. Time to Organize!

This meeting will be for the purpose of electing new officers (Board Committee) for the upcoming year of 2009-2010. Wow! Where does all the time go? We will need to nominate and vote for a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Refreshment Coordinator and Hospitality Coordinator. We will also discuss final plans for the annual Plant Sale. Sign up sheets will be distributed for members to sign up for times to work at the plant sale.

Saturday, May 9, 2009 - 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Annual Mother's Day Plant Sale

Our annual Plant Sale Event will be held again this year at Cottage Gardens, Rte 110, just over the line into Haverhill. We had a great time last year and even the weather cooperated! This is our big fund raiser for the year so we will need the help of all members to make this a great success!!! See you all there!

Tuesday, June 2, 2009 - 7:00 PM. Annual Members Plant Exchange.

Time to Get down and Dirty girls! Time to divide and conquer those out of control Hostas, Day Lillies or some other exotic creature. Someone will be looking to collect them and you'll be on the prowl to pick some out for yourself. This is great fun! New plants....Oh goody! And they're Free! Be there, or be square!
