All dogs six months of age or older must be licensed, (Massachusetts General Law Chapter 140, Section 137), evidence of a current rabies vaccination must be provided. Dogs are licensed at the Office of Town Clerk and run from April 1st to March 31st of each year. Licenses may be purchased after February 1st.
Any dog not licensed by June 1st will be charged a late fee in addition to the cost of the license and tag. This fee will increase as of July 1st and again on August 1st if the dog remains unlicensed.
Dog owners age 70 or older will not be charged a license fee, but will be charged late fees if applicable.
